Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet. My name is Misty Shwiyyat.

I am an artist, a metalsmith, a torchworker/lampworker and a bench jeweler.

(And a dental lab technician - my day job)

My passions are metal and glass! I cannot choose one over the other, so my

goal is to marry the two and produce a unique offspring. I am also in love with gems,

stones, and casting. My ultimate vision is to create something unique that

 incorporates all of the above.

In January 2002 I took my first metalsmithing class at Tulsa Community College.

I studied under Bill Derrevere for 4 consecutive semesters.

Here are some photos of my much missed metalsmithing studio...

My first lampworking class was on March 16, 2002 at Tulsa Stained Glass Studio.

I torched on a Hot Head and made lots of fugly beads and that was the beginning

of my love affair with glass.

I have also taken classes with the following lampworkers/torchworkers:

Ginny Sycuro - May 2003

Kim Osibin - August 2004

Jennifer Geldard - March 2005

Kimberly Affleck - November 2006

Pamela Kay Wolfersberger - March 2007

Dustin Tabor - Feburary 2008

In 2004 I graduated from the Jewelry Technology program that was offered at Oklahoma

State University-Okmulgee. I spent approximately 2 1/2 years studying the art of

creating fine jewelry with Steven Sherrill as my instructor.
